V2 is here

Now I have officially more redesigns than posts. But I feel it was needed. After the initial site creation I didn't have a clue to what to do with it, and it became soon abandoned. The about me page was still empty, and some things didn't feel right. Furthermore, I wasn't fully convinced about the general design. For this reasons I decided to embark in a full redesign, and also a tech switch. It also serves as a new start and new motivation to write more frequently.
I used another static site generator, since there is no reason to have more complicated frameworks. This time I used lume, a generator for Deno which uses Vento as a template engine. Why I chose it? No reason, I just found it and went with it. So don't take this site as an example, it's an experiment. Along the way I found some interesting features like plugins or the CMS, but I feel like (and I won't verify) other generators certainly have similar features. I didn't start from scratch neither, as I heavily modified the simple blog theme.
For the favicon I got an espresso cup pixelart from Reddit 1, because I'm Italian, I love a good espresso (and maybe I am addicted to it). The light color scheme is taken from Colossal website, while for the dark mode (which I'm still not convinced about) I used a generator.
These are some inspirations I got from other blogs:
- ricksrick.github.io - awesome guy which I did an university course with. It sparked my interest in lume
- basus.me - general styling, like the dotted underline and the header breadcrumb
- kawafuji.dev - learning lume and vento
- vanderwalt.de - about me page experience timeline
Now it's time to talk about the plans with the blog. This time I feel I need one, otherwise I will forget about it and ignore it. My aim is having an excuse to improve my writing, and in the mean time exploring cool things with more depth. I'm planning to do at least one blog post per month to start, if I see I am consistent with my writing for 2 months (without publishing), I'll increase the rate. Let's hope I'll stay consistent!
