- Non-Terminal symbols are represented by wrapping symbols in angle brackets, like
<SheepNoise>, - Terminal symbols are underlined.
- Symbol
:==means “derives”, while|means “also derives”
As an example, the sheep noise grammar is:
<SheepNoise> :== <u>baa</u> <SheepNoise> | <u>baa</u>
